Everyone, thanks for the warm comments on my last post.  Thanks for praying/thinking about my family and all, I think I’m better now and I’m not sure if it’ll really hit me until I get home.

On Friday I left to go on the Körhelg (Choir Weekend) with V-dalakören (V-dala choir) to Järlåsa and I just got back yesterday~

I think it was an adventure from the start. I met with Evelina who had brought me a sleeping bag and a little blow up mattress type thing that Ulrika had let me borrow, but she wasn’t going to come until Saturday.  Anyway, yes so we met at Ekonomikum and took the Sala bus line to our little cabin/house dealio.  It kind of reminded me of our old girl scout cabins and such.  But, the place I guess can be rented out for weddings and all that fun stuff.

So, we took a looong walk into the woods to find the cabin thing and when we did we all got settled in.  And of course, we sang!  It’s choir practice/weekend/fun/adventure after all.  It really reminded me of band camp.  We would sing, eat, sing, eat, and that consisted of our time.  So, we had hot dogs our first night, I don’t usually like hot dogs, but these were really good haha.  And on Saturday we also did the same thing and we had fika as well.  2 fika in one day, it was like a dream come true!  I love fika cakes and cookies.  So delicious.

Anyway!  The real adventure came on Saturday night.  Saturday ingeneral was a bit hard to focus on.  I didn’t sleep well the night before because my makeshift bed fell apart in the middle of the night and I ended up on the floor, the room was also extremely hot, (which I personally think is better than extremely cold, like here at Flogsta) and yeah…so I got maybe an hour or two of sleep that night.

Saturday we practiced more, but then we all split off because us newbies to the choir weekend had to perform a Spex, which is a funny comedy of sorts, usually a parody of something, but this time it was just a funny skit.  We decided to have a circus theme since 3 people in our group can juggle.  Martin is especially good, he can juggle 2 balls and an apple, and take a bite out of the apple, and keep going, without dropping anything.  He really belongs in a circus.  So yes, we had jugglers, Maike, Eugene, and I formed the exchange student triangle, and Gustav was the “lion” lol.  After that we all sang a song from Monty Python, though the beginning part 2 of the swedish guys changed the lyrics to funny stuff in Swedish and yeah.  So, that was our plan for our spex later in the evening.

After our practice of the spex, we all got dressed up and went downstairs for our “formal” dinner.  We had a weird way of picking who we would sit by.  We all had to draw a paper, the guys I believe had a character, and the girls had to sing the theme song from whatever was on our paper.  I got Beauty & The Beast, so I sang that and I ended up being paired with Marvelous Martin, not to be confused with Machine Dish Washer Martin who I was going to do the spex with, though he did sit across from me.  I also sat near Amelie and Karin who has the 3rd best dog in the world, Ville! Sooo cute~! Before I forget, earlier in the day we had learned everyones names by going in a circle and playing a game like “Patrik the penguin” etc etc… So, if I describe people later by that, you’ll know why: hence Marvelous Martin and Machine Dish Washer Martin.

Körhelg Dinner
Körhelg Dinner

So, dinner was delicious.  It was like a gasque.  We had a 3 course meal (Bread-stuff that tasted like licorice to me because of the olives (starter), Salmon & Rice (entre), and New York Style Blueberry Cheesecake (dessert))and plenty of singing and toasting.  I drank water mostly, aside from a drink I had before the actual dinner, which tasted more like delicious juice! Alcohol is usually nasty, but this was actually pretty good.  So, while people were getting drunk throughout the night, I got to laugh at them, because I uh…wasn’t?  But, basically after you sing a song you do this formal way of toasting, that’s really a process.  I’ll show everyone once I get home.  But, yes you sing after a speech or something special, then you drink.  Or you make a “tsss tssss” sound, and the person in charge (Sofia) gets up and starts a song that we’ve been learning in choir or something most people know, and after that people drink again with a toast.

There were 3 songs that were especially fun to sing.  Helan går (toast song of sorts), the ABBA parody song, and Circle of Life.  Circle of Life was the most entertaining though because out of nowhere Fabian (I think?) got up and started singing it and then the rest of the choir joined in, so I joined in with the sopranos singing what I thought they would be singing (which luckily they were haha).  It was so much fun.  A few more songs that came about just in our little section of the table was ‘Bumbi Björnarna’, the swedish version of Gummi Bears, which I just so happen to have! I was amazed, because I knew it and I didn’t learn it at choir.  And also when Machine Dish Washer Martin and I sang Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” together, but I did English Jasmine parts and he did the Aladdin parts in Swedish, so it was amusing. XD The most funny though is still the ABBA parody song about spanking and stuff lmfao.  This choir loooves ABBA. Smiska här, smiska där, piska mig, piska dig~HEJ~ (Sing it to the tune of numanuma…and stuff lmao)

After dinner, we all did our spex and that was entertaining, I think the others watching were amused. So yay~  Aaand yeah, then it became more chaotic and we eventually cleaned up and I talked with Kool Karin (not Ville Karin) and we all danced a bit or went and sang.  Eveeentually we all went to sleep.

Then the next morning, the sopranos (meee) had to get up and do breakfast and such.  We all cleaned up then and played some games before heading to the bus stop to go back home.  It was pouring cold rain that day, so yeah.  Some people drove back, some people offered to take people, but after all of that cheesecake and stuff, I just walked to the bus stop.  Probably not the brightest idea with only having a hoodie and such on.

When I got home I definitely had a warm shower and it was amaaazing, let me tell you!  I also found out when I got home that Matthias will be going back to Germany with his mom, so things are all packed up.  I hope he doesn’t have any brain damage and gets out of this okay. =\  He’ll be in my thoughts.

Also, my doorbell was rang a few minutes ago, so I went to check and see who it was.  We don’t have a peep hole, so I couldn’t tell if I knew the person or not.  Well, they started to speak to me in french, and then realized I wasn’t french.  Which was fine, and I thought maybe they would leave. But, no.  Instead she whipped out her bible.  And they started asking me about what I thought about the future and if I thought it was scary or something.  I told them no, the future isn’t scary when you live in the here and now.  So she read me some prophecy in Isaiah. Or something.  And asked what I thought of that and if I thought it was a real one, and I said no.  Because I think to make the world perfect and nice we have to work towards that.  I think the bible is a fine guide, like most mythology books on morals and stuff, but I don’t think it predicts the future.  Theeen after a few minutes, she whipped out The Watchtower.  I’m not even kidding.  Back home I just don’t answer the door if they come, so I’ve managed to not get involved, but it majority athiest Sweden…this happens? What’s going on?  It’s especially amusing because I watched ‘Zeitgeist’ last night (well part 1 & 2, I need to finish it) which taught/reminded me of a lot.  Put puzzle pieces together, that I didn’t know where to put before.  So, I have an even different view on Christianity than what I had before I left for Sweden.

Two days ago was really interesting, but yesterday I was a bit too lazy to write about it.

I got up at 11 then, and went to town with Jenny and Julia, I don’t remember why we were going exactly; but we did.  Sooo, yeah.  We went around shopping/looking for a bit.  I even tried on this dress, which was pretty cute, but I didn’t know when I’d wear it.  I love shopping here, there are no meltdowns because things somehow actually fit me!  They have my size in everything I’ve wanted to try on so far! And it’s not even the biggest size, can you believe it!?

Then I met up with Ingrid as well since I had told her we could meet for fika, but I wasn’t done shopping yet! So, she came and I ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes.  Okay, so technically I bought 2 pair, and the last one was free.  I realized I had 0 nice shoes, so I got a pair of maryjanes of some sort, ballerina shoes, and some boots.  Very nice~ haha. Oh, I forgot to mention my card gave me issues again so I went to the bank AGAIN and withdrew some cash and they said they would send me ANOTHER card.  This will be my 3rd one.  Am I doing something wrong? I don’t think so. 3rd time’s the charm!

We then ended up going to Lindex (like Windex!) which seems to be a store mostly for under garmets and the like, and I picked out some tights and leggings.  Oh leggings, how you remind me of elementary school. Haha~ But, I mostly bought those because Ingrid said the pair she bought was her best purchase thus far, though apparently she’s been wearing them lots and they’re really supposed to be used in winter, Jenny says.  But, Ingrid is from Florida, I can see why they’d be nice now!

After that we went to Storkens and got fika.  I love the Storkens special, and you can get ice cream with it for FREE! Yummm~~

Then, Jenny and I left to go find out where they sent my package.  I heard they were supposed to send it to the ICA by my building, but they didn’t and they sent it to some mail place on Skolgatan.  Which, is very much in town and very much not by my building.  So, we got there and the mail guy joked with me, especially when he brought the package. It was HUGE.  Mom, how did you expect me to carry that?!  It was so heavy too!  The bottom of it was also busting, and that was sad~ But nothing fell out except maybe some medicine because when we opened the box on a bench to empty it a bit because of the weight, I noticed my medicine thingy was destroooyed.  So, I had pills and stuff all over the place in there, I saved as many as I could find, but Im pretty sure that most of them are in the plane, on the mail room floor, or scattered throughout the US and Sweden. Oh well. :< So, I stuffed my bookbag full, along with some more bags and there still wasn’t enough room for it.  If Jenny wasn’t with me, I don’t know what I would have done!  She helped me with the box because my elbows kept buckling and that’s no good.

We then went over to Lisa and Peter’s (after a quick stop to jenny’s) because I apparently said I would go clubbing with them and promised Jenny since they were trying to hook her up with a random guy and I had to save her.  Uhm…I don’t remember promising, but since they said I did. I went.  But yes, we played a bit of guitar hero; and Jason should be happy because I passed some songs, on easy, but I still passed! Way better than what happened last time I played!  Aaand we also played Mario Kart, which I wasn’t so good at today, though I rocked last time. >>;And I picked out my costume for Halloween, which will be Little Red Riding Hood, since the Fallen Angel one only came in like a small. :<

Aaand I also met Josefin (another good friend of Lisa, peter, Jenny, Suyin, etc), who throughout the night I came to find is a really awesome person, so I think she may have erased previous bad thoughts about the name.  But, we won’t get into that.  Unless she does something douchebaggy, she’s good!  And quite amusing.  She said she was from Kalix, and at that time I was texting a friend who lives up there.  It’s a super small city in northern Sweden.  Josefin swears that everyone knows everyone, so I said the name of my friend, and she didn’t know him; but that did NOT stop her from texting and calling friends/family to see if they knew, and it turns out yes 2 of them DID know the person I was talking to.  It really is a small world, which also means I pretty much believe in that whole 6 degrees of separation thing now. Haha.

So, Lisa bailed on us and I ended up going to Värmlands with just Jenny and Josefin.  So, we danced mostly, which was entertaining I guess?  It was fun, though I don’t think this is something I’d want to do on a frequent basis.  Something about bumping into sweaty people is not so great, or having the drunk swedish girls flail and pratically start a mosh pit with you, also not fun.  Haha, but yeah there were 2 dance floors, and we randomly went back and forth between them. It was nice, and by the end Josefin ended up dancing with some guy, but Jenny and I stayed together, because we just aren’t for the whole going with random guys thingy.  And whatever if you want to dance with them, that’s fine, I assume that’s what you’re supposed to do.  But, aaaish! I hate the making out that I sometimes saw, especially making out with no dancing.  It’s like gtfo if you’re going to just stand there and suck face.

We ended up leaving and walked home, which was nice because it was nice outside, but not so nice because my feet were killing meee~ XD

When I got back to my room I stayed up to watch the presidential debates, I was exhausted, but I really thought it was important to watch, so I streamed it on cnn.com I think.  I didn’t want to go watch them in the main corridor TV room, though I believe they were on live Swedish television as well.  I know there was a recap yesterday on the news, so they probably did.  I really felt that McCain did a horrible job, which doesn’t surprise me.  I have yet to see Bill Maher for Friday night, but I’m sure it’ll be entertaining.  I mean, he kept repeating himself, not answering the questions, flat out LYING, and doing that republican smirk-laugh.  It’s so irritating to watch, not to mention he was being super condescending.  Anyone who votes for him has got serious issues, especially if they are fed up with the current administration.  You know, this election is more important so if you want to vote solely on party-lines, that’s also stupid.  Look at the issues, look at how they’re presented.  Two Monday’s or so ago McCain said that the economy was sound for example, and then the crazy crash happened.  And now he’s playing it off like he’s been worried about it for so long?  He’s a fat-cat and the Democrats need to paint it that way.  He is not fighting for the little people he is fighting for that top 1%.  I have a lot more I could say on the debates, but this probably isn’t the place.  I will say one final thing though, you can tell he’s  warmonger and that there will be more wars.  All he could talk about were the wars, no matter what the topic (not to mention the frequent use of scare tactics he was using, it’s fine in little campaigns, but you can’t use those during a debate; hopefully it backfires!) and he wants more wars and he wants to use hard power in his foreign policy, it’s ridiculous.  We can’t have someone like this. We just can’t.  If you want more of the same, or Bush Administraton part 3, by all means vote for McCain.  If you want change, please vote for Obama.  At least with Obama there is hope of something new.  And if you feel so uninformed and are too lazy to catch up on details, and won’t vote.  Then please, give me a few extra votes and vote for Obama.

ANYWAY.

The next morning I got up and “cleaned” a bit (it’s just as messy now though haha) and unpacked my box.  I got teary eyed because I don’t know, just randomly a little homesick seeing the stuff.  There were a lot of amusing things in there like the giant lollipops, the halloween decorations, the Purdue sticker and the OSU poncho (which would have been nice the first two weeks here haha).  It was nice, though I was so angry when I realized how big the box was, I really liked EVERYTHING inside it, so it was all worth it.  <33

I did laundry yesterday, since I FINALLY ran out of clothes!  Uhm, yeah the washers are different here and super small, so I had to hog three of them.  The laundry room is in building 7 (I’m in building 6) so that’s not going to be fun in the winter haha.  But, I decided to do it on a Saturday night, because people will be partying and out, and I can easily just…use the laundry facilities.  Now, the whole washer system is very strange.  I wasn’t sure how to do everything so I just kind of threw my liquid detergent into the machine like I would at home.  Well, while my clothes were washing, I came back to my room and talked to a friend who informed me that there are box things on the top that you’re supposed to put your detergent or fabric softner into.  Well, I clearly messed that up!  I’d say maybe next time I’ll get it, but I’ll need a Swede to come and explain it to me.  I think there is one slot for dry detergent, another for liquid detergent, and another for fabric softner.  However, the pictures and stuff don’t explain or tell you what to put where.  So, it’s probably best to ask a Swede before you go what everything means.  If I had a camera on my phone, I probably would have taken a picture and sent it to peter like, “What is this nonsense?!” haha.

Anyway, the dreyers aren’t AS complicated except there are 3 things you can pick.  P1, P2, or P3.  According to the picture P1 is no water, P2 had one drop so I’m assuming it was some water, and P3 had two drops, which I assume was a lot of water.  Well, next time I’m using P3.  Because I used P2 this time, and came back like an hour later and my clothes were still damp.  What the heck?  I didn’t think they were THAT wet when I put them in there, but I guess they were.  It also doesn’t say anywhere how long your clothes will be on for.  It says between 15-70 minutes.  And that’s a large span of time.  Jonatan said he usually just puts them in, and goes back in an hour.  Seems like a good plan to me.  Except yeah, P3 next time!  I did notice one machine did have the time listed, but only one~  So strange.  So yes, check with someone before you do laundry for the first time if you have no idea what hole to put the detergent in (Hello, kids from America!) or if you aren’t sure how long to keep it in there just keep it in there for about an hour on P3.  Also, don’t expect to stay down there, there are no chairs for you to keep watch over your stuff.  I guess people are more trusting here, at Purdue there are signs on our doors like, “Don’t leave laundry unattended!!!”

Oh! There is also a “hanging” dryer apparently.  I didn’t realize that until I came back and Peter and co. told me that it could be a tumbler or a hanging one, I said one was like way taller than me, and I assume that is probably a hanging one.  I was going to check it out when I came back, but apparently someone was using it at the time and it would be pretty bad of me to like…open it, check out their clothes, and mess up their settings just to see it. Haha.

My new bank card came today. 🙂

Today was another failed attempt at Waffle Wednesday.  We (Miriam, Su Yeong, Wiebke, & Lisa) met at OG again, and they were “out” again.  I think it’s a filthy lie.  We’re always there at 2, when the place opens, and they’re already “out”? I think not!  So this time we didn’t go to Norrlands, but we went to Cafe Linne and got food and took it to the dock since it was so nice outside.  Not to mention it was warm! Though, 60 degrees is hardly warm, but it feels like 70 almost because I had to take off my pink jacket-thing and everything!  My chocolate muffin was even trying to melt!

I also feel that Japan is following me even here.  Though, more like otaku-ness. Which is sad, because I don’t like that.  Someone had written “Dir en Grey” and “Hentai” on the dock.  So, naturally I think “jrock otaku lulz”.

After fika, I went to a 2nd hand store with Su Yeong and Lisa for a little bit, but it seems they’re more expensive there than in a real shop — so yeah, no thanks! I didn’t like anything there anyway…kind of like how I get creepy feelings in stores like that.  Germophobe.  I realize they SHOULD wash the clothes, but I didn’t SEE them do it, so how do I know they did?

Anyway, after that I went back to Flogsta and ran into Jesper and Aleksandra in the kitchen.  Aleksandra asked, “So, any news on how Matthias is doing?” to Jesper.  And Jesper said he’s stable but would still be in the hospital for awhile.  What.  So, I was completely taken back, because I had no idea Matthias was even IN the hospital.  Texas told me later that when they saw me sobbing in the hallway and Aleksandra comforting me last night, that they felt it probably not a good time to tell me (and I suppose they’re right!) but yeah.  I guess Matthias had an accident around 4 yesterday.  He and Jesper were going somewhere and Matthias was doing something on a skateboard, fell, and well…head injury.  And I guess it was pretty bad and such.  Jesper said the doctor’s said he fractured some part of his skull.  And, tonight Jesper told us that they were going to operate because blood in his head was swelling so they have to drill a hole to release the pressure.  I guess he’s embarassed because he wasn’t wearing a helmet, but you know…accidents happen.  And I just hope he gets better soon.

He’s such a funny guy and I really like bugging him, he even said I had an “angelic smile” two days ago because he stared at me grinning so I then smiled back and was like “HI!” haha.  It was funny, to me…if you were there.  But yeah.  He’s just such a nice guy, at least we have the comfort of knowing he’s in ‘stable’ condition and not serious or critical condition.  When he gets a little more off the drugs I’ll probably try and visit him at the hospital…if I can find it.

Am I such bad luck?

Taking it back to a few days ago, I went over to Ingrid’s in Kantorsgatan, which I took the bus to get to because it was like…way over there. But, anyway I went over there and met up with some of her other friends and we’ve become the “Baking Nation” though possibly a different name soon because I think we’ll do more than bake.  But anyway, we had a lot of delicious food that Ingrid made and also that Miriam and Judith made as well.  Everything was really delicious, which is almost always the case when I don’t make it haha~

After the gathering Britta and Ingrid went to SNerikes to dance and such, while Miriam, Judith and myself went back home.  They live in Rackersbergatan (sp?) so they waited by the bus stop with me until my bus came, which I thought was nice ❤  Both of them are super nice girls, and I can’t wait to hang out again haha~ Miriam is from Germany and Judith is from Austria, so both of them somehow made me remember junior year of HS and our trip to Germany and Austria. Fun times~ 🙂 Fun sober times. Haha.

Jumping ahead a bit, on Wednesday I ran into Suyin and Per in the street.  Both of them are in my class so we chatted for a few minutes and exchanged emails, numbers, and all that fun stuff!  It was funny when I got home, Suyin and I talked on MSN as if we’ve known each other for years haha~  So, the next day we all sat together in class and Suyin invited us to go get fika with her friends, sadly Per couldn’t come, but I went! 😀  So I met her friends: Peter (who reminds me of Jim!) and Jenny~  They were so welcoming and I didn’t feel awkward at all, I really really enjoyed hanging out with them!  Suyin paid for my cake, since they all insisted that I eat haha~ And ice cream is free with cake! I was so surprised! I’m really happy I met Suyin, it’s almost like she’s adopted me haha~ I’m her little international student loool! We made plans to go over to Peter and Lisa’s (Peter’s girlfriend) apartment for a BBQ the next day (Friday).

After much talking and amusing stories, Suyin had to catch the train (or was it bus?) back to Stockholm and I walked back to Flogsta with Jenny and Peter since they live in the little apartments under the tall buildings I’m in.  Peter took us through the scenic route, so we went through little neighborhoods and such that I hadn’t seen before. It was so pretty!  When we got to Flogsta they told me to continue up a path since they were at their apartments.  Aaand I trusted them so I did, and I ended up coming in through an enterance near building 12 and 13, I didn’t even know there was an enterance there!

Anyway! Yesterday was the “BBQ” that didn’t really happen haha.  Suyin told me ahead of time that it was just going to be goofing off and movie times (which is fine with me!) so I ate some oatmeal; lost track of time and was like 10 minutes late meeting her at the ICA. @_@ I really shouldn’t start talking to Jonatan in the kitchen when I’m on limited time. Haha~ I always tend to drag him into convos that amuse me. XD

So, we bought some candies at the ICA.  I found out the night before that Suyin really likes red vines, I had no idea what that was so I google’d it and it’s just TWIZZLERS.  Little does she know my mom loves those as well, so maybe mom can send up a package and I can give her some haha~  She also liked some other candy, but I can’t remember what it was.  I just know twizzlers was one of them.  Anyway, she got some candy rope and I got some Ahlgrens Bilar, which are candy cars…I guess they’re marshmallows (nothing like marshmallows though!) and a CHOCOOOLATE bar with some m&m like candies inside.

Then we walked over to Peter and Lisa’s apartment.  I was so amazed when I walked in! I’m so used to seeing crappy looking student housing things, very bland and very basic, but their apartment looked like a real home.  I can’t really describe it, but it felt SO nice because it seemed like a home…where you know people live.  Haha that sounded kind of redundant, but whatever.  We had some blueberry muffin flavored coffee (yeah you heard me! It wasn’t too bad, It smelled like blueberries but the taste wasn’t very blueberry like haha) and we watched Music & Lyrics first.  After that we watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, or is it Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Whichever the new one is with Johnny Depp!  I realized while watching that it could have been so much better if at least ONE time they would do the original Oompa Loompa song!

Suyin; who adopted me! XD

Suyin; who adopted me! XD

After that we watched a bit of Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno! :O  They weren’t super new, but only maybe about a week old! I was so surprised to see them on tv, with swedish subtitles haha~  We all talked a bit, and there may be a trip to Scotland in the future!  Lisa lived there for 3 months so she said she could show us all around~  I’m surprised they’re letting me in on this if they do it. 😮  It would be so much fun!!

Yesterday I went to and had lunch at Linne’s cafe thing in town with Melissa and a girl from Sweden that her University hooked her up with.  But anyway, so we got there and I got ‘lax pasta’ it looked pretty tasty.  But, I probably should have asked what lax was, because it’s salmon…so that makes for a strange pasta.  It wasn’t bad per se; but definitely not something I was expecting.  Melissa’s tasted better, she had crab in hers and she didn’t know it was crab.  I’m not really sure why they put random sea creatures into their pasta here.  Though possibly not all of Sweden, because I talked with Peter and Oscar and both of them were like, “Lol what?” when I brought it up.  Maybe it’s an Uppsala thing.  But, I’m here to try new things, right? So, I guess it’s best I don’t know what the food things say.  Unless it’s meatloaf; that would be nice to know before I eat it.

After that Melissa and I went to two bike shops.  They, like all others, had no used bikes and the newer ones were still more expensive than the ones we could get at ABBA.  So, we were fed up with waiting; as we have classes on Monday, and just went to ABBA and bought bikes, locks, and lights.  It’s kind of a shame that we use all that money on bikes and we probably will end up leaving them here.  I guess I could find a way to ship it back home, I’m sure John would think that was kewl; mom…not so much.  Considering our garage is like a little bike store at home.  You know, I should’ve just sent over one of my bikes.  Then I wouldn’t be having this problem. So yeah, get a bike the first week you’re here, because there will be cheap used ones available.  A few days before class starts and you won’t find anything.

After the bike adventure we went to sign up for Nations. We first stopped at Östgöta nation so Melissa could sign up.  There were a lot of really nice people there and I kind of wanted to join it too, but alas I had already decided on one.  After Melissa signed up we tried to go up to the pink castle, but couldn’t figure it out.  It started to rain a bit so we headed to the nation I joined; Västmanlands-Dala Nation AKA V-Dala.  It seemed a bit less homey there, but that’s okay.  Olivia (a girl in Melissa’s corridor that I met earlier) was the one who helped me register and all that stuff. Haha~  While my temporary ID card was being printed she sent me over to a table to look at brochures about the nation and such.  Well, there was this one basket I thought was candy, so I picked up one…and it definitely wasn’t candy.  So, condoms are wrapped up in long tubes and not in square packages like back at home.  I just kinda laughed and tossed it back in the basket, it was super awkward and I didn’t really see why they had those sitting up there with all the nation information; but whatever. Haha~

I came back home and Mattias was watching TV, I didn’t see what it was until he kinda called at me; “It’s Obama!” so I was like “Huh?” and turned around.  They were showing Obama’s speech from the DNC, so I was pretty excited to watch that.  I really wanted to hear Hillary and Bill’s speeches though, but they didn’t show those. :<

After that I went to the ICA and bought some stuff to make Balsamic Cream Sauce for my pasta.  Or I should say Pablo’s pasta, as he left it in the cupboard when he left, and now I’ve taken it. Bahaha~ I was going to make it last night, but Alex and Jonatan were cooking already in the kitchen…so another peanut butter sandwich was had!

When I came back home, I also noticed that McCain picked a running mate.  A female one at that.  I mean, it’s pretty obvious what he tried to do.  He’s trying to get disgruntled Hilary supporters to his side, because she’s a woman.  Or he could also be trying to make history.  What’s really bothersome though is that most of his anti-campaigns and speeches were about Obama not having experience. Uh, so he picks someone 2 years Obama’s junior?  Good to see that argument go out the window.  It’s also pretty amusing because she’s on investigation right now as well.  Hopefully this tactic won’t work.  The media stated that because she was once in the national guard and because she’s the son of a soldier; that she’s fit to be President or VP.  I kind of lol’d because I think the nation would be in great distress if say my stepbrother Brandon were President, or even several parents of soldiers. :p

The rest of the day/night was uneventful.  I’m getting really sick and my throat is super irritated.  I really need to go get medicine because I already took all of my throat/cough drops from home.  I was talking to Oscar on Ventrilo and I had to cut it off because I went into serious coughing attack mode.  I think because the weather gets colder here earlier, I’m having my seasonal allergies about 2 months in advance.  So, they should hopefully go away soon…I hope.

On a random note;  I really need to see how much it costs/how to transfer money. I’m already late in paying my rent, but they said usually a week late and they won’t charge you extra…which is good.
